The Book of How to do Things in ELT
This resource for English language teachers contains 70 lesson plans and ideas that teachers can use as is and adapt as necessary. It is also a teacher training book that covers aspects of our field such as CEFR, feedback, pronunciation teaching, testing and creative writing.

Chapter 1, Dos and donts was motivated by 50 lesson observations done in the six months leading up to COVID (2019–2020).
Chapter 2 discusses and lists examples of classroom language. They appear under headings such as:
- How to be as polite as an Englishman
- How to return work and give feedback
- How students use English in the course of activities
The other six chapters deal with pedagogy, learning to learn, teaching vocabulary, grammar and functional language, TPR, integrated skills and interaction.
